Hi there!

It's been a few months since I started this new journey pf opening my private practice. Since then, there have been a few changes and new followers here! So, I wanted to take a moment to welcome you and share with you a bit about myself, my journey and what I offer.

I am a Registered Dietitian with too many passions. No, seriously. that's been a challenge for me recently as I try to find my niche here in this world. Let me elaborate.

I am passionate about sports nutrition - I was a runner and a swimmer through high school. I honed in on swimming through university though I continued to run as part of my training. Learning about nutrition made a huge difference for me in my sports ambitions and I always knew this was an area of nutrition I wanted to be a part of. So, over the last couple of years, I have worked hard on my continuing education and have graduated from the International Olympic Committee's Diploma in Sports Nutrition. Additionally, I recently completed my ISAK Level 1 certification which gives me the skills to complete basic body composition assessments.

I am also passionate about Intuitive Eating. I became a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor about 2 years ago. I actually have a history of disordered eating in my younger years. One day I believe I will open up about this more and share my story in a more detailed way but for now, here's the Cole's notes version. I became more aware of my body size and began trying to manipulate it sometime in high school. I was already a leaner kid - very active in multiple sports. Mainly, I enjoyed being on the track team, x-country running, and swimming. I got it in my head that if I was skinnier, I would be better at these sports. I have also always been tough on myself. I work hard wanting to be the best at everything I do. I am definitely a perfectionist and a people-pleaser. And before you even think it - yes I have gone to therapy!

Anyhow. I remember people getting worried about me - I remember people making comments about how tiny I was - I remember sneaking away to weigh myself and the panic if I saw the number go up - I remember tragically restricting my food - I remember how determined I was in my thinking that I was doing the right thing for my sport - I remember being exhausted, cold and constantly hungry.

Then I went to university and joined the university swim team. Over the course of 1 year I began to learn more about nutrition, found joy and pleasure in eating again, and discovered what my body could do if it was well-fed. I didn't see much improvement in my sport the first year but into my second year and beyond - WOW! Looking back, it was such a defining time in my life.

I knew that when I became a dietitian I wanted to help prevent this from happening to others and help heal those who came from similar circumstances. So I found my way to Intuitive Eating, an approach that calls out the dieting bs, tells the truth about the harm restrictive eating can cause and helps people in healing their relationships with food and their bodies. I remember thinking "YES! These are my people!".

In addition to my professional passions, I also love being a mom and a wife, eating good food, enjoying a cold glass of white wine with a good book (I am half-way through Onyx Storm for any of my Rebecca Yarros fans our there), cuddling with my pup, finishing a good workout and being by the water.

See, I knew we would connect in some way!

At the moment, my practice consists of mainly 1-on-1 nutrition consultations but I will let you in on something...I am working hard to bring you new content, new programs and new packages that will meet you where you are at and help you succeed in becoming your best version of yourself! I can't wait to continue learning, and growing and I am taking you along for the ride.

Thank you for being here and supporting me and I hope I get to meet with you soon!
